Classic FM launches second series of video game music programme

11:46, 16th October 2017

Classic FM has announced a second series of High Score, presented by composer Jessica Curry.

The programme, which is dedicated to video game music, will return with a six-week run on 4 November at 9pm.

The second series will launch and finish with all-request shows, where listeners will be able to choose their favourite pieces of video game music. The other programmes will explore depictions of love and quests, celebrate spoken and sung voices within games, and the series will conclude with Curry’s selection of the best video game music of 2017.

The first series of High Score (broadcast in April/May) became the most popular programme on ‘Listen Again’ in Classic FM’s 25-year history, and remains the only series on UK radio dedicated to video game music.

Sam Jackson, Classic FM’s managing editor, said: “We were so encouraged by the response to the first series of High Score. Since the launch of Classic FM 25 years ago, the station has been a pioneer and aimed to break down the barriers to classical music, so we can’t wait for the new series.’
