ISM appoints Sarah Osborn as Head of Services and Operations

2:06, 30th April 2018

The ISM has announced the appointment of former Music Publishers Association (MPA) chief executive Sarah Osborn (pictured) as head of services and operations.

She spent her early career in music publishing at Faber Music and Schott Music, before joining at the MPA as general manager and then chief executive. In this role, she saw the organisation through a period of significant change, including the establishment of Printed Music Licensing Ltd. (PMLL) and the introduction of the first licence to permit the photocopying of sheet music within schools.

Since leaving the MPA in 2015, Osborn has worked as a freelance consultant, providing project management services to music publishing and wider creative industries. Her clients have included Boosey & Hawkes, Audio Network, and composers Laurence Crane and Richard Beaudoin.

In addition, she is a trustee of the National Music Council, a co-founder of Music Network UK, and a founding trustee of Let June Make a Difference – a charity that supports children in Yorkshire.

Chief executive of the ISM Deborah Annetts, said: ‘With her extensive and illustrious career in the music industry, Sarah is the perfect fit for the ISM.

‘As the UK progresses towards leaving the EU, the ISM will ensure our services are as tailored, specialist and bespoke as required for our membership. Sarah’s appointment is particularly crucial and we look forward to working with her in this period of great change.’

Osborn will commence the role on 1 May.
