Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod reveals 2018 programme4:00, 4th December 2017
The programme for the 2018 Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod has been revealed.
The annual festival of music, dance and culture includes competitions showcasing choirs and dance troupes from across the globe. There will also be live performances from emerging bands, musicians and street performers from across the globe, as well as activities to entertain children and food, drink and local craft stalls.
Highlights include performances from Calan and Red Priest; a duet between music director Vicky Yannoula and Peter Jablonski; and an evening celebrating the Eisteddfod’s founding values.
The Festival’s competitions will conclude on 7 July, with the winners of the international choral competition competing for the titles of Choir of the World 2018 and the Pavarotti Trophy, and the event will draw to a close on 8 July at Llanfest 2018.
Vicky Yannoula, said: ‘We are proud that this year’s Festival line-up spans genres and generations, crossing the boundaries of age, culture and creed. There really is something for everyone and we’ll be adding even more early in the new year, with the announcement of our Llanfest headliners for 2018.’
The Festival will run 3-8 July 2018. Tickets will go on sale to the general public at 9.30am on 14 December.
