The Church of St James Piccadilly will host a brand new annual series of chamber music concerts from 2018.

The Piccadilly Chamber Music Series will launch on 26 January 2018 with a concert by violinist Rhys Watkins, cellist Rowena Calvert and pianist Warren Mailley-Smith, curator of the series.

The other four concerts in the series will take place on 23 February, 23 March, 18 May and 29 June. Performers will include CBSO leader Zoe Beyers, violinist Matthew Jones, Ilyoung Chae and Ruth Palmer, and cellists Pavlos Carvalho, Tim Lowe, Victoria Simonsen and Gabriella Swallow.

The inaugural series of five concerts in 2018 will feature Beethoven’s complete piano trios, and each programme will include at least two works by Ludwig van Beethoven, as well as a work by a living composer. For this opening season, works by Cecilia McDowall, Helen Grime, György Kurtág, Nico Muhly and Arvo Pärt have been included.
