Sound and Music announces latest Pathways intake

2:57, 14th February 2017

Georgie Buchanan, Gemma Nash, Blasio Kavuma, Jason Yarde and Samantha Fernando are the latest five composers selected for Sound and Music’s Pathways programme.

Launched in spring 2016, Pathways forms one strand of SaM’s Active Encouragement work, which seeks to address the inequalities of opportunity for composers to develop their talent in the new music sector.

The programme specifically invited UK artists who are either registered disabled or from backgrounds other than white British. Each composer will join a bespoke residency programme which will begin with a six month programme of coaching and mentoring, and then will be allocated a residency partner with which they will create one or more new works.
