Finalists for 2018 International Opera Awards revealed

The finalists for the 2018 International Opera Awards have been announced.

The finalists were selected by an international jury chaired by John Allison, editor of Opera magazine and classical music critic with the Daily Telegraph, and were selected for their achievements over the 2017 calendar year.

Members of the public have until 9 March to vote on the Readers’ Award; the winner of this and the awards for Philanthropist, Lifetime Achievement, and Leadership will be announced at a later date.

The 2018 International Opera Awards ceremony will take place on 9 April at the London Coliseum. The ceremony will be directed by Ella Marchment and will feature live performances from leading singers. Radio 3 will broadcast highlights from the evening in a special 90-minute programme on 15 April at 7.30pm.
