Keith Clarke joined Classical Music in 1986 and was editor 1991-2012. He was managing editor of Rhinegold Publishing 2007-12. He previously edited Music & Musicians magazine. As a freelance he has written for the Times, Independent, Observer, BBC Television, the British Council and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. He is UK correspondent of Musical America. After training as a printer, he joined Decca Records in 1975, interviewing artists, producing discs for the US market, and attending an awful lot of parties. He has been presented with the Classic FM Red Award ‘for outstanding contribution to classical music’. He is an enthusiastic piano accompanist with truly appalling sight-reading and keeps osteopaths in business with his determination to tame the piano accordion.
