Owen MortimerEditor, International Piano and Associate Editor, Opera Now Department: Editorial Biography
Owen Mortimer is the Editor of International Piano magazine and Associate Editor of Opera Now magazine. He has also written for Songlines, Classical Music, Music Teacher and Le Cahier Export UK.
In 2007, Owen was one of the founding editors of On Stage, the in-house magazine of India’s National Centre for the Performing Arts. He is currently developing a project for the British Council website as part of next year’s Shakespeare 400 celebrations.
Owen was based in India from 2007 to 2011 where he served as the founding director of the Rajasthan International Folk Festival (RIFF). He went on to manage a multi-city tour of India by the LPO Renga Ensemble, and since returning to the UK in 2011 has supported a series of music tours to India, most recently the national premiere of Verdi’s Requiem in Mumbai by members of the Bournemouth Symphony Chorus.
Owen studied music at Oxford and plays the piano and French horn.
