If Rhinegold LIVE had an official ‘one to watch’ series, then Trio Elgiaco would certainly fit the bill! Fresh from their trio debut at the Sacconi Festival – where they received a standing ovation – John Paul Ekins (piano), Hannah Dawson (violin), and Pierre Doumenge (cello), took to the Rhinegold LIVE stage to perform Tchaikovsky’s Piano Trio in A minor.
Though relatively new as an ensemble, Trio Eligiaco have each carved out successful careers individually, performing at such premier international venues as the Royal Albert Hall; Queen Elizabeth Hall; Wigmore Hall; Birmingham Symphony Hall; and as members of leading ensembles, including the Sacconi Quartet; Dante Quartet; Allegri Quartet; Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment; John Wilson Orchestra; Aurora Orchestra; English Chamber Orchestra; and the London Chamber Orchestra.
A Rhinegold LIVE first, the trio will performed only one work, but we bent the rules for very good reason!

The concert was followed by an informal Q&A, conducted by Kimon Daltas, editor of Classical Music magazine.
