Founded by Keith Diggle and Tony Gamble with the aim of publishing a news magazine for the classical music industry, Classical Music Weekly (now Classical Music)
First British & International Music Yearbook is published
The company acquires Music Teacher magazine

1988
The first edition of the British Performing Arts Yearbook is published

1992
The company acquires Opera Now magazine

1993
Early Music Today, The Singer and Piano magazines are launched

2002
First Rhinegold Education titles (GCSE/A level study guides, Rhinegold Dictionary of Sound) are published

2004
Classroom Music and Teaching Drama magazines are launched
The first edition of the Rhinegold Guide to Music Education (now the British Music Education Yearbook) is published

2007
Keith Diggle and Tony Gamble retire and current owner Derek Smith takes over the company

2009
The company acquires Choir & Organ and International Piano from Newsquest Specialist Media and Muso magazines from Impromptu Publishing
Early Music Today is incorporated within Classical Music magazine

2010
Rhinegold Education division (which published the GCSE and A level study guides) acquired by Music Sales Ltd
The Singer is incorporated within Classical Music magazine
The Piano is incorporated within International Piano magazine

2011
Classroom Music merges with Music Teacher magazine
Early Music Today relaunches as a stand-alone publication
Digital versions of all Rhinegold Publishing magazines are launched

2012
Muso and The Singer magazines cease publication and the content is incorporated within Classical Music

2013
Rhinegold Publishing launches the first Music Education Expo, now run by associate company Rhinegold Media & Events
rhinegoldjobs.co.uk is launched as a stand-alone website

2014
musicpages.co.uk is launched

2016

Music Education Expo is re-branded to include both music & drama teachers to the new Music & Drama Education Expo.
