CAMBRIDGE ACADEMY OF ORGAN STUDIES: SOUVIGNY & MOULINS ORGAN ACADEMY
20–26 Aug, Moulins (20-23 Aug) and Souvigny (23-26 Aug), France
Led by Jean-Luc Perrot, Pierre Dubois (Souvigny), Alexis Droy (Moulins). Classes on the historic 1880 Merklin organ in the cathedral of Moulins and on the 1783 Clicquot organ at Souvigny. A broad range of French music on historic instruments of the period with expert tuition. Active participants and observers welcome, on one or both courses. Fees: One course (Souvigny or Moulins): €250 active participants, €80 observers. Both courses: €450 active participants, €160 observers. Active on one course and observer at the other: €250 plus €80. Places limited to 6 active participants on each course. Bursaries available for students over 18 in full-time education.

ST ANDREWS ORGAN WEEK: THE AULD ALLIANCE – ASPECTS OF THE FRENCH ORGAN CULTURE

Tutors: Olivier Salandini, Neil Cockburn, Henry Fairs, Anne Page, Edmund Aldhouse, Graham Mark Scott, Tom Wilkinson. Organ academy for up to 30 amateur and young organists, plus observers. Topics include the French classical organ, the harmonium (all participants will receive hands-on experience of a Mustel harmonium under the guidance of Anne Page) and 19th- and 20th-century French organ literature. Concerts include the complete organ works of Duruflé (Henry Fairs) and a reconstruction of the recital performed by Marcel Dupré at the Caird Hall in Dundee in 1924 (Edmund Aldhouse, Neil Cockburn). Cost includes dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation.
