Caritas Chamber Choir has announced its second Young Composer Competition.

This year, Ragnar Bohlin, director of the San Francisco Symphony Chorus, will judge the submissions, which should be inspired by the county of Kent (home to the Caritas Chamber Choir). The composer of the winning entry will receive a prize of £500 and five runners up will each receive £250.

The competition is open to composers of any nationality born between 1983 and 2000. The work should be scored for a minimum of four parts (SATB) or a maximum of eight parts (SSAATTBB), with or without piano, and should last between four and six minutes.

Submissions should be made by 1 April 2018 and sent to Competition@caritaschamberchoir.com.
