João Vaz makes first concert trip to the UK8:26, 15th May 2018
Portugal’s leading organist, João Vaz, will play his first concerts in the UK this June.
To coincide with Portugal Day on 10 June he will perform works by Portuguese composers at Westminster Abbey and, two days later, at the City Guild Church of St Lawrence Jewry.
At Westminster Abbey the programme will include a selection of Portuguese music through the ages, including the world premiere of his own contribution to the Orgelbüchlein Project – an international composition project to complete J S Bach’s Little Organ Book.
In addition he will play a lunchtime concert at St Lawrence Jewry on 12 June.
Both concerts are free.
