Sing for Pleasure announces final 2019 training weekend8:14, 6th September 2019
National choral charity Sing for Pleasure (SfP) has announced that its final training weekend of 2019 will be held at Bolton Music Service’s new base in Mere Hall, a Grade II listed building.
Alongside its choral conducting training programme, the charity will run its popular course providing an introduction to orchestral conducting, aimed at those with choral conducting experience wishing to diversify.
Manvinder Rattan, SfP’s CEO and head of conductor training, said: ‘Competent, effective orchestral conducting technique requires a slightly different set of skills than those we teach for successful vocal leadership. This introductory course is unusual in that unlike our higher graded choral conductor training, it’s open to individuals who haven’t necessarily been on SfP courses in the past; although we do ask that course members have choral conducting experience equivalent to our more advanced course levels.’
