The Rodolfus Foundation announces 2021 choral courses

4:52, 16th February 2021

The Rodolfus Foundation has announced its choral courses for 2021. Throughout the summer, four senior and two junior courses will be held at Eton College, Uppingham School, Wellington College, Oxford and Cambridge.

The senior courses are open to young people aged 16-21. Participants will learn to sing sacred choral services and consort repertoire to a high standard, alongside attending masterclasses with vising professionals and having private singing lessons. The courses are also open to organists and accompanists.

On the junior courses, for children aged 8-15, the repertoire comprises a mix of classical works and lighter fare. Activities include whole choir practices, age-defined consort groups, an instrumental concert and plenty of games.

Artist director Ralph Allwood said: ‘In all our courses, we aim for a balance between deep enjoyment of the most powerful music and skills gained, which will enable ever more fruitful involvement in music afterwards. The structure of the courses means that friends are made very early on, and these friendships often become strong enough to endure for a long time after the courses.’
