Applications open for Yamaha trumpet scholarships

9:29, 4th October 2018

This year’s Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe Scholarship Awards will focus on the trumpet.

Founded in 1989, the scheme operates in 31 European countries and has provided over 850 scholarships.

Many Yamaha scholars have gone on to enjoy outstanding careers in performance and education, such as saxophonist Amy Dickson, euphonium players David Childs, and pianists Eduard Kunz and Sasha Grynyuk.

This year, the scheme is offering awards of 2000 euros to three scholars, who will compete in a live final at the Royal Academy of Music on 24 February 2019.

Applications are open to students under 25 who are studying music full time.
