The ‘no rules’ early music festival Baroque at the Edge returns for its second year, running from 4-6 January 2019 at LSO St Luke’s.

Highlights include performances by Venezuelan pianist Gabriela Montero and Dutch singer Nora Fischer; the first full-scale staging of Clare Norburn’s concert-drama Burying the Dead; viola de gamba experimentalist Liam Byrne, and American violinist Elicia Silverstein.

Artistic director Lindsay Kemp said: ‘Our first Baroque at the Edge was an exciting adventure for everyone involved, whether performing, planning or just listening to our eclectic mix of styles, instruments and personalities, presented in the beautiful and symbolic surroundings of LSO St Luke’s.

‘Now we’re looking forward enormously to our second edition, when we will again be putting aside convention so that this great music and extraordinary line-up of performers can work their magic on us unhindered by genre boundaries and musicological clutter.’

Tickets go on sale on 31 August.
