DONNE Women in Music, a project founded by Brazilian soprano Gabriella Di Laccio in partnership with UK independent classical label Drama Musica, has announced its three latest CD releases and a special showcase concert.
Launched on International Women’s Day 2018, DONNE aims to promote equality within classical music, celebrating the work of women composers past and present. Its website includes a database of more than 5,000 women composers, an online video series Composers of Today, and the 2019 project DONNE365 which highlights two women composers every day throughout the year.
DONNE has been releasing a series of albums throughout 2018-2019 featuring only music by women, the latest three of which will be released on 22 November 2019:
- Anna Bon Di Venezia 6 Flute Sonatas Op. 1 – Vladimir Soares (recorder), Fabian Grosch (harpsichord)
- Hildegard Now & Then Works by Hildegard von Bingen & Silvia Berg (b. 1958) – Kismara Pessatti (contralto), Sarah Hatch (percussion)
