Concert series, record label and commissioning body, Listenpony, will release its sixth EP on 4 October 2019, alongside its next live concert at London’s Crypt on the Green on 2 October 2019.

The EP, titled Live at Listenpony: Tabea Debus, features recorder player Debus who performed at Crypt on The Green in January 2019 with an array of performances from Telemann’s Fantastia per flauto senza basso no. 2 to Freya Waley-Cohen’s Caffeine.

The release will take place alongside the Listenpony#19 concert on 2 October with artists Ligeti Quartet, Joseph Havlat and Ana Silvera. The three commissioned composers for the event are Joseph Howard, Egidija Medekšaitè and Rūta Vitkauskaitė in addition to a new work from in-house composer William Marsey.

Founded in 2012 by composers William Marsey, Josephine Stephenson and Freya Waley-Cohen, Listenpony has since put on over 20 events collaborating with artists from a variety of musical traditions, from classical and contemporary music to pop, folk, jazz and rap. In 2016 Listenpony expanded into a record label and started releasing ‘Live at Listenpony’ EPs, each focusing on a single performer or ensemble showcasing a diverse mix of music.

Releases are all live recordings captured by Sonus Audio and distributed by The Orchard, with artworks handmade by artists Daniel Strange and Luke Carter. A single from Debus’s live EP will be released on 13 September: Alex Paxton’s Tellsong, a Listenpony commission.
