Nevill Holt Opera announces 2019 season3:53, 31st January 2019
Nevill Holt Opera’s (NHO) 2019 summer festival will open with a new production of Benjamin Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream directed by Anna Morrissey and designed by Simon Kenny.
Leicestershire singer Tim Morgan will play Oberon, accompanied by Daisy Brown.
The NHO children’s chorus will perform the Chorus of Fairies, drawn from the academy of Schools of the David Ross Education Trust. This role is the culmination of a five-year long education programme delivered by NHO in schools across the East Midlands.
In addition NHO will stage an art-deco inspired production of Cosi Fan Tutti, directed by Adele Thomas. Reviving the original production from Northern Ireland opera, this showing will build upon NHO’s partnership with the Royal Northern Sinfonia under the baton of Nicholas Chalmers.
Cosi Fan Tutti will then move to Sage Gateshead for two fully-staged performances on 5 and 6 July.
