Reignwood becomes LSO principal partner1:03, 4th October 2016
The London Symphony Orchestra has announced a new principal partnership with Chinese investment firm Reignwood for the next three years.
Building on the company’s existing sponsorship, the partnership will run until 2019.
Reignwood will support the orchestra’s work in the UK and China, as well as its digital education and outreach initiatives LSO Play and iTunes U, helping to make teaching and learning resources more widely available.
Kathryn McDowell, managing director of the LSO, said that Reignwood’s ‘important commitment’ to the orchestra’s activities ‘reflects a shared vision to foster strong relations between East and West through music, education and culture’.
‘In the current economic and political environment, it has never been more important to deepen relationships between the UK and China,’ said Songhua Ni, president of Reignwood Group.
‘The partnership demonstrates Reignwood’s commitment to the UK, and the value we place on our activities and investments here.
‘This deeper relationship we have announced with the LSO further promotes our belief that goodwill can be enhanced through cultural exchanges. Even though much has happened since we agreed our sponsorship last year, Reignwood is firmly committed to the UK, and in deepening our presence here.’
