Sheku Kanneh-Mason and London Mozart Players to reunite at Fairfield Halls10:18, 7th November 2019
Cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason is to join the London Mozart Players on stage at Croydon’s Fairfield Halls on Sunday 12 January 2020 for ‘A Concert Extraordinaire’: the venue’s first classical concert of the year.
Kanneh-Mason will perform as a guest soloist alongside the orchestra, with whom he first performed back in 2017. He will join the LMP for a performance of the Saint Saëns Cello Concerto No. 1 as part of a French themed programme conducted by former LMP flautist Jaime Martin, featuring other classics such as Mozart’s Paris Symphony, Bizet’s Symphony in C and Ravel’s Pavane pour une infante défunte.
‘Having performed with Sheku when he was just starting out in his classical music career, we have been truly delighted to see how his talent has developed and to see his music reach music lovers of all ages and backgrounds,’ says Julia Desbruslais, executive director of the LMP.
A cello ensemble from Croydon Music & Arts will perform in the Fairfield Arnhem Foyer prior to the concert as part of the LMP’s community outreach work, which has also seen a number of free tickets distributed for free among various schools.
