St John’s Collective to hold concert to tackle homelessness in Manchester

9:10, 13th April 2018

Since January 2018, a partnership between Manchester Camerata and property developer Allied London has brought together amateur musicians from across Manchester to form St John’s Collective.

The group has been meeting at the Old Granada Studios to work on a collection of specially-written pieces by emerging young composers, inspired by the city, its buildings and its people.

They have recently announced their first public performance, which will take place at the Old Granada Studios on 26 April. All proceeds from the concert will go directly to Big Change, a charity aiming to tackle homelessness in Manchester.

Jonathan Raine, Corporate Director for Allied London and leader of the project, said, ‘the St John’s Collective has demonstrated the city’s creativity and the power of something new and innovative. I look forward to sharing this on the 26th and working with everyone to continue the Collective in some form into the future.’

The event is free, but registration is required with a suggested donation of £10 per person.
