Vienna Philharmonic and IDAGIO launch partnership4:43, 14th October 2019
Classical streaming service IDAGIO is exclusively offering up to six selected subscription concerts per season from the Vienna Musikverein for audio streaming as part of a new media partnership with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
The Vienna Philharmonic will also use IDAGIO’s Global Artist Tools to reach listeners around the world with curated playlists and recommended recordings. ‘With our playlists, we want to document highlights from our recording history and present fans with a very personal selection of music pieces that are of particular importance to us,’ comments managing director of the Vienna Philharmonic, Michael Bladerer, who will present the playlists with the orchestra’s chairman Daniel Froschauer.
Froschauer comments: ‘We are delighted to welcome IDAGIO as our new media partner … Streaming makes it easier for younger listeners in particular to access classical music and we are delighted to increase the global reach of our music through IDAGIO.’
IDAGIO’s founder and CEO Till Janczukowicz adds: ‘Classical music is global and timeless. However, the way we listen, communicate and share content changes dramatically fast. Our goal is to make classical music as accessible as possible to people all over the world and to help artists use digital change as an opportunity. It is with this goal in mind that we enter into our latest partnership with the Vienna Philharmonic.’
