Wigmore Hall are launching an early music and baroque series as part of their 2012-13 season. The concert series will see performances from The Sixteen (their first at Wigmore since the start of the new millennium); Stile Antico, who will perform works from Thomas Tallis and William Byrd this December, and EMT cover star Jordi Savall, who is set to perform a programme of Celtic music with harpist Andrew Lawrence-King.

This year’s series also promises to provide a platform for the ‘younger generation of early music interpreters’, with performances from Mahan Esfahani, the Early Opera Company and Anna Prohaska. Director John Gilhooly said: ‘Our new artistic season celebrates a wealth of great artists and our investment over the past decade in fresh programming possibilities and innovative artistic projects.’
