LFBM to lose artistic director and festival manager9:44, 25th January 2017
Lindsay Kemp and Lucy Bending are to step down as artistic director and festival manager of the London Festival of Baroque Music (LFBM) at the end of the 2017 event.
Kemp and Bending, in post since 2007 and 2008 respectively, coordinated the survival of the festival after a three-decade sponsorship arrangement with Lufthansa was terminated in 2014.
Although it was reduced to five days of concerts in 2015, the Festival has already resumed its nine-day ‘Lufthansa’ format.
Mark Stadler, chair of LFBM, said: ‘Lindsay and Lucy did a brilliant job “rebooting” the Festival after the departure of Lufthansa, for which we will always be grateful. We wish them both every success with their other projects.’
The 2017 London Festival of Baroque Music will take place 12-20 May.
