Casio keyboard interest soars following John Lewis advert

Casio has reported a surge in interest for its piano and keyboard ranges following the launch of the John Lewis Christmas advert.

The advert, which dramatises the story of Elton John receiving his first piano, carries the message that some presents are ‘more than just a gift’.

Since the advert’s launch on 14 November, visits to the Casio website have more than doubled, surging at a 101% increase on the same period last year.

Head of EMI at Casio Neil Evans commented that the advert has brought into focus how ‘magical’ the gift of a musical instrument can be. ‘Off the back of this,’ he continued, ‘we’ve seen a huge interest in our piano-based products and we anticipate these will feature highly on everyone’s shopping list this season.’

To celebrate Christmas this year, Casio is running a special promotion for its award-winning Celviano Grand Hybrid digital pianos. Named ‘Silent Practice. Silent Night.’, each customer purchasing the piano will receive a complimentary pair of Bose headphones (subject to terms and conditions outlined on the website).

The Celviano Grand Hybrid is designed in collaboration with acoustic piano manufacturer C Bechstein, combining full-length precision wooden keys replicating the natural travel and recoil of an acoustic grand piano, but with the added benefits of digital sound technology.
