Casio wins coveted NAMM Award

11:17, 8th February 2019

Casio Music’s PX-S3000 digital piano has been named as one of the winners of NAMM’s Best in Show ‘Gotta Stock It’ Award 2019. Unveiled at this year’s NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) trade show in California, Casio showcased its new PX-S digital pianos alongside its ultra-compact CDP-S range.

Two Casio models – the PX-S1000 and PX-S3000 – mark the latest generation of the brand’s Privia range, the world’s slimmest digital pianos with an 88-key weighted hammer action. Taking their cue from the slogan ‘Slim, Stylish, Smart’, both instruments are extremely compact and compatible with smart technology.

Featuring a newly developed Smart Scaled Hammer Action Keyboard, the models offer a natural piano touch and stylish touchscreen interface. They also boast a Multi-Dimensional Morphing AiR sound source, capable of producing an accurate acoustic sound-field, plus Bluetooth audio reproduction – some of the most cutting-edge features to date.

‘We are absolutely thrilled to be presented with this accolade,’ said Neil Evans, Casio’s head of electronic musical instruments. ‘It is a testament to Casio’s hard work and energy that has gone into developing groundbreaking products. The new Privia series is yet another example of our commitment to push the boundaries in musical instrument development.’

In addition to revealing the Privia series, Casio introduced two ultra-compact digital pianos: the CDP-S100 and CDP-S350. Both instruments come equipped with a new sound engine, the Dynamic Stereo Sound source, resulting in a smoother touch gradient and enhanced dynamic range, plus Casio’s Scaled Hammer Action II Keyboard with simulated ebony and ivory textured keys.

The new PX-S models will be available from April 2019
