Pavel Kolesnikov joins London Piano Festival line-up

11:04, 13th June 2018

Pavel Kolesnikov is replacing Ingrid Fliter at the London Piano Festival this October.

In addition to solo recitals of works by Couperin and Schumann, he will join the Two Piano Marathon, in which pieces by Bax, Debussy, Adès, Stravinsky and Rachmaninov are performed in various pairings by the festival’s pianists.

Co-artistic directors Charles Owen and Katya Apekisheva said: ‘At the London Piano Festival we want to bring together a whole range of music appealing to piano lovers of all ages. As 2018 marks the centenary of Debussy’s death, we felt it was important to mark this within our programming this year. We also love to present contemporary music at the festival and this year we’ll be performing a piece by Thomas Adès who is a great friend of Charles’s.’

The festival will take place from 3-7 October at Kings Place, London.
