Elsa Thurley receives BASCA 2018 scholarship

The Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) has announced Elsa Thurley as the recipient of the £27,000 BASCA Scholarship.

Thurley will now commence her fully-funded undergraduate course in Commercial Songwriting at ACM.

She saw off competition from two other finalists, Sam Deed and Leoni Jane Kennedy.

BASCA’s chairman Crispin Hunt, said: ‘As always, the competition was very tough as the standard of all the performers was so high.

‘Elsa stood out as her song had a slightly edge about it. Having worked with lots of talents artists and writers that have passed through ACM’s doors, I know that Elsa is in safe hands and know that this scholarship will be an excellent platform for her to launch her career.’
