Roderick Williams takes Birmingham Conservatoire post12:39, 27th July 2017
Roderick Williams has been appointed as visiting consultant in vocal performance at Birmingham Conservatoire.
The baritone, who was awarded an OBE earlier this year, will visit the institution on a regular basis to give recitals, individual coaching and masterclasses.
The appointment coincides with the Conservatoire’s move to its £57m new home, due to open in September.
Paul Wingfield, head of vocal and operatic studies, said: ‘Roderick is already known to many of our students for his inspirational masterclasses and his unwavering commitment to young voices. I am sure that we will all benefit enormously from the wealth of his experience both on the operatic stage and the concert platform.
‘His presence at the Conservatoire will help ensure we are at the leading edge of vocal training in the UK.’
