BETT 2012

10:23, 12th January 2012

Teaching Drama visited BETT yesterday. We saw a lot of interesting technology that had fantastic interactive elements, such as a floor projector which moved when you interacted with it.

Big companies such as Lego were there to demonstrate how their products can be incorporated into teaching and learning. We discovered that Channel 4 make teaching resources (unfortunately not for drama though!) and found the Google stall with a live tree on display and colourful fruity drinks on sample.

Michael Gove opened the event yesterday by announcing a shake-up of ICT. He described ICT in it’s current form as a ‘mess’ and promised that September would bring some big changes to the subject and to the way it is taught.

BETT continues today and tomorrow; if you’re interested in seeing the latest technology in education take the trip down to London Olympia.

There is a limited tube service to Kensington Olympia so BETT are providing a shuttle bus service from Earls Court.
