Maggie Smith to appear in conversation at the Orange Tree

9:00, 18th October 2017

As part of a new series of talks, Dame Maggie Smith will be in conversation with Orange Tree Theatre ambassador Gyles Brandreth this November. The Under the Orange Tree series sees distinguishes actors discussing people they’ve worked with, admired and learnt from, and Smith’s talk follows the first sold out talk with Dame Judi Dench in June.

‘I have admired Maggie Smith since I first saw her at the National Theatre at the Old Vic in the early 1960s,’ said Brandreth. ‘Her career has been extraordinary, her talent is huge. She has worked with all my heroes, from Laurence Olivier to Kenneth Williams. I’m so excited to be talking with her in the intimate setting of the Orange Tree Theatre.’

Smith will be in conversation with Brandreth on 19 November. Funds from the tickets, which cost £100, will go towards the theatre’s work – rediscovering plays and developing new material. They are available online only at www.orangetreetheatre.co.uk
