UCAS to hold Create Your Future event for aspiring arts professionals

8:50, 13th October 2017

Principal of Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Julian Lloyd Webber and Skunk Anansie guitarist Ace will appear at Create Your Future, a UCAS event aimed at people seeking careers in the creative arts. They will be joining a panel that will be answering questions from young people aspiring to becoming professional musicians, performers and designers.

Create Your Future will be bringing together course leaders, students and industry experts to provide advice and information to those interested in pursuing careers in the creative arts.

‘As principal of the world-class Birmingham Conservatoire, I’m delighted to have the chance to talk directly to potential students about the creative arts profession and the opportunities available for study,’ said Lloyd Webber. ‘Create Your Future is an ideal event to help those wanting to work in design, music or the performing arts find out how to take the first step towards building a successful career.’

‘As head of creative industry development at the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM), I’m passionate about working with students who want to carve out a career in the music industry,’ added Ace, who has toured as the guitarist in one of the biggest rock bands in Europe in the 90s and 00s, and has taught courses in live performance at the ACM since September 2014.

The first event will be held in London’s ExCel on 17 and 18 October, with a second event taking place on 21 and 22 November at Manchester Central. Further information can be found at www.ucas.com/events/create-your-future-london-304401 and www.ucas.com/events/create-your-future-manchester-304486
